Bangor police on Wednesday released the identity of the man shot by an officer on Grove Street.

Brian Barker, 40 of Bangor, is charged with domestic violence terrorizing after being shot during a confrontation with officers on Tuesday.

Police say Barker threatened officers with a weapon when they responded to a domestic disturbance call shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officer Dylan Hall, who has been on the force for a little more than a year, fired his weapon and hit Barker. Barker is being hospitalized at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was listed in good condition Wednesday afternoon.

Hall has been placed on administrative leave. As is the case with all officer-involved shootings, the Maine Attorney General will investigate.

Police say the investigation into the domestic violence incident is continuing and more charges are expected.
