State police have identified the man who died in an apparent home invasion in Rangeley as Michael Bokun, 29, of Manhattan, New York.

The incident at 2564 Main Street was reported early Thursday morning.

The state medical examiners office says Bokun died from a gunshot wound to the chest, state police said in a news release on Friday.

Two other men were injured at the home. One of them has been identified as Hector Munoz, 48, of New York City, the release said. He received treatment for a head injury at Central Maine Medical Center and then was arrested for violating his probation from an unrelated incident. Munoz was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.

A man who lives in the home suffered non-life threatening injuries and remains hospitalized. Police are currently withholding the man's name.

The incident remains under investigation.

Police have said a violent altercation took place and inside the home and they're working to determine why it occurred.

They also said they're looking into whether drugs were a factor.
