State Police say a man and woman from Augusta have been formally charged in connection with the death of a man inside their apartment in November.

Zina Fritz, 27, and her boyfriend, Michael Sean McQuade, 45, were indicted late last week by the Kennebec County Grand Jury.

Both were indicted on charges of murder, felony murder and robbery. They'll make their first court appearance on the charges Tuesday morning at the Augusta Judicial Center.

The two were arrested by Augusta Police on Friday on unrelated charges and are being held at the Kennebec County Jail.

The two lived in an apartment on Washington Street, where the killing occurred.

On November 23, the body Joseph Marceau, 31, of Augusta was found in the building after police were called to the apartment for a disturbance.

A man from New York City had previously been charged in the case. The day of the murder, detectives arrested Damik Davis, 25, and charged him with murder. He continues to be held at the Kennebec County Jail.

Police are calling the death “a drug related homicide”.
