Police say a man who has been on probation for assault charges is on the run and is considered dangerous.

Missing is Christopher William Gonyar, age 40, who fled the Biddeford probation office. He was on probation for three counts of aggravated assault and assault on an officer. The charges are connected to a 2006 incident in which he stabbed the mother of his children and a Sanford Police Officer.

His probation has now been revoked and he is currently wanted for arrest. Police say he is considered dangerous. Gonyar has ties to Sanford and Old Orchard Beach, as well as Haverhill and Sandwich, Massachusetts.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Eric Small at 324-3644. And folks can leave an anonymous tip by texting keyword SANFORD to CRIMES (274637) followed by the information you would like to provide, or submit a tip on the department's tip line.
