Keep and eye to the sky!

Tonight here on the east coast we will get a little out of this world treat. A penumbral lunar eclipse will occur around 7:50 this evening. It wont a full eclipse, as only part of the Earth's shadow will darken the moon. You should see the lower hemisphere of the moon covered in Earth's shadow. The photo above is similar to what we'll see.

The best viewing will be in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; as they will see the beginning of the eclipse. We will see the end of the eclipse.

With clear skies in the forecast for tonight, it should be a good view. Take it all in as the next lunar eclipse is forecast for April of 2014.

For the VERY best viewing, cue up Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album.
