Oxford English Dictionary Adds The Word ‘Masshole’

The Oxford English Dictionary has added nearly 500 new words, including masshole.

The dictionary defines masshole as "a contemptuous term for a native of inhabitant of the state of Massachusetts."

I think we've all said masshole at one point or another, especially when traffic on I-95 gets bogged down in the summer with all those massholes driving north for vacation.

Some of the other words added Wednesday were twerk, fo’shizzle, sext and meh.

Twerk: "Dance to popular music in asexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance."

Fo' shizzle: "This slang term originated in the language of rap and hip-hop and means 'for sure'."

Sext: "Send (someone) sexually explicit photographs or messages via mobile phone."

Meh: "This interjection, expressing indifference or a lack of enthusiasm, was probably popularized by the cartoon series The Simpsons, but it was already in use online by 1992 – two years before it was used in the programme."
