A tractor trailer rollover in Augusta has temporarily closed the northbound lane of Interstate 95 this morning.

WABI-TV reports that the accident happened just after 5:00 this morning in the northbound lane of I-95 in Augusta. The overturned truck is sitting partially in the travel lane and so, traffic has been down to one lane. Maine DOT officials now say that both lanes are closed, temporarily, while the rig is removed from the scene.

It was the driver's first day on the job hauling mail from Massachusetts to Bangor. 29-year-old Nzabandor Appolinaire of Springfield, Massachusetts, sustained only minor injuries in the crash when he veered onto the shoulder, causing the truck to overturn. The mail he was hauling has been loaded onto another federal truck.
