We've had a dry summer this year but luckily we've had some rain the past few days.  Check out this tool from drought.org that allows you to input your zip code and see how the drought conditions are doing in your neighborhood.

This is good information to know, especially if you have well water.  A drought could impact your well water if you have a shallow well.  The rain we've had in the past week may have helped build up the water table but really does take a slow, steady soaking to build your water supply up.  Check out more info about drought relating to well water here.

I took the liberty to input a few area towns with differing results from town to town.  Here were the results around central and eastern Maine that I got on Friday, August 17th:
