A man was killed at around noon on Tuesday when his car flipped completely over, landing on its wheels.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 37-year-old Richard Breau of Searsport died in the crash on Route 3 in China. His car left the roadway near S&T Motors, hit an embankment, and flipped all the way over, landing on its wheels.

Breau, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and it then landed on top of him. He was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock said Breau, who had a revoked Massachusetts driver's license, likely would have survived the crash had he been wearing his seat belt.
