One person is dead after an early Wednesday morning accident on the County Road in Milford.

Police have not released the name of the victim in the crash, which was reported at about 1 a.m. The identities of those involved will be released on Thursday, according to police.

The accident occurred when an eastbound pickup carrying three people left the road, clipped a utility pole, rolled over an caught fire.

A second person in the truck was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and the third person suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation and is being reconstructed and forensically mapped by deputies from the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office.
