Old Town Police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man whose body was found near a meth lab where four others were arrested.

Details are few at this hour, but Police Captain Lee Miller sent out a media release to answer questions about the depth of the investigation. The man, whose name has not been released by authorities, was found unresponsive at 465 Brunswick Street. The man was found to be deceased.

WABI-TV reports the body was found after an explosion and small fire was reported inside an apartment at 178 Brunswick Street. 38-year-old Jason Smith and 31-year-old Carrie Ballanger live in the apartment and were charged with operating a meth lab. 47-year-old Don Dube of Glenburn and 36-year-old Sue Smith, a transient, were also arrested. Officials have not released the identity of the decease man but officials told TV-5 that the body was badly burned.

Captain Miller says, due to the circumstances, Old Town Police were aided by the State Fire Marshal's Office and the State Medical Examiner's Office.
