An Old Town man was taken into custody after a week-long investigation into a spate of residential burglaries in the area.

Jonathan Brothers, 28, was charged with violating probation after police recovered stolen property at his residence, according to a news release from the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.

The daytime, residential burglaries were reported throughout Central Penobscot County, including Holden, Glenburn, Hudson, Corinth, Old Town, Orono, and Carmel.

The investigation remains active and numerous charges of burglary and theft are pending.
