Officials Release Identity of Lobster Fisherman Who Died

Officials have released the identity of a lobster fisherman whose body was found in the water next to his boat off Vinalhaven. Another boater spotted the body on Wednesday and alerted authorities.

Maine Marine Patrol identified the victim as Jeremy Philbrook, 36 of Vinalhaven. Officials say they believe he fell from his boat and drowned but continue to investigate to determine exactly what happened.

Coast Guard Officials remind boaters to wear a life vest at all times, especially when they're alone.
