Lots of fundraising might have very well saved the Odlin Road bus route.

The Community Connector’s Odlin Road bus route is a vote away from being saved, for now. About a month ago, Bangor City Councilor Joe Baldacci stopped by the More Music Morning Show to talk about saving the route. Baldacci even gave up his $2,000 annual council salary to give the route a few more months! Many people rely on the route, if it were shut down many commuters would be left stranded.

The bus route costs $20,000 a year. Fundraising efforts have amounted to $11,000! Now all that is needed is the final $9,000, which could come from the city.

If the $9,000 is approved, the route is safe until June 30, 2014.

The Odlin Road route was selected for shutdown because Community Connector needed to eliminate $20,000 from it's yearly budget.
