Two men from Brooklyn, New York have been arrested following a more than two-month investigation into the sale of heroin and crack cocaine in the Brewer area.

Police arrested Wayne Evans, 18, and Shatik Watson, 19, the Brewer Police Department said in a news release Wednesday.

An investigation led by Brewer police, with assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, culminated in the execution of a search warrant Tuesday on North Main Street.

Officers seized an estimated 77 grams of heroin and 21 grams of crack cocaine, the release said. The estimated street value of the drugs was more than $14,000.

Evans was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, trafficking in prison contraband and failure to submit to arrest or detention.

Watson was arrested for unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs.

The release said the men were currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
