Our thoughts are with Nicole Kidman, whose father passed away after falling in a Singapore restaurant.

According to the New York Post, Dr. Antony Kidman died at Tan Tock Seng Hospital earlier today (Sept. 12). He was abroad visiting his younger daughter, Antonia, and her six children.

PEOPLE reports that Dr. Kidman was a clinical psychologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology Sydney.

"Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father," Nicole's publicist Leslee Dart reports in a statement. (Quote via PEOPLE.) "She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time."

"Antony is incredibly close to both Nicole and Antonia," a family friend told WHO (via PEOPLE). "He was a rock to them all."

Dr. Kidman reportedly was honored with the Order of Australia in 2005 for his psychology work, which included psycho-social implications suffered by those with breast cancer and other diseases.
