But we aren't the city that truly never sleeps.

Jawbone has explored sleep data collected from all over the country. Their findings show our sleep patterns are a product of our surroundings. It was no surprise big cities with party atmospheres stay up later. Even state counties with colleges and university's are night owls.

In Penobscot county folks hit the hay around 11:10. Mainers across the board are creatures of the night, with bedtimes ranging from 10:56-11:12PM. We aren't as wild as Brooklyn, New York (Kings County) who stay up the latest (12:07AM). Paradise must be tiring, Maul county Hawaii hits the hay earliest at 10:31PM.

Here in Maine we get a fair amount of sleep too! Penobscot county residents average 7.4 hours of sleep a night. Washington and Hancock county folks are the most well rested in the state, averaging 7.38 hours.
