The Maine DEA’s Augusta task force arrested a New Jersey couple on numerous felony drug charges. The agents have been investigating the couple for months under the suspicion of importing drugs like crack cocaine and Oxycodone into Maine for resale in the Augusta area.

Agents were able to make numerous undercover drug purchases as part of this investigation. Wednesday agents arrested Otis Tosen (43) and Kimberly Maldonado (47) outside an Augusta hotel. Both Tosen and Maldonado had outstanding warrants for their arrests stemming from MDEA investigations. Tosen’s warrant stemmed from a 3-count indictment from the Kennebec County Superior Court charging aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (Class A). Maldonado’s warrant was a failure to appear for an unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs charge from 2013 (Class B).

Following the arrest, the couple’s Augusta motel room was searched and agents seized approximately 50 grams of cocaine base (crack), 150 grams of powder cocaine, 620 Oxycodone pills, and $5,200 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is in excess of $36,000.

As a result of the evidence seized during the search of the motel room, Otis Tosen a/k/a Otis Bell a/k/a“slim” has been charged with (6) counts of Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W drugs (3 counts related to cocaine and 3 counts related to Oxycodone) Cocaine. Kimberly Maldonado a/k/a Kim Sanchez has been charged with (3) counts of Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W drugs (2 related to cocaine and 1 related to Oxycodone). Both are currently being held at the Kennebec County Jail pending a determination of bail.
