A motorcyclist involved in a single vehicle accident over the weekend has succumbed to his injuries.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Randal Goslin died of injuries sustained when his motorcycle slammed into a utility pole along Route 202 near the New Hampshire state line. He passed away after being taken to Maine Medical Center. The 40-year-old was from Farmington, New Hampshire.

Goslin is the 22nd motorcyclist killed on Maine roads so far this year. Eleven motorcycle deaths were reported for all of 2014. Troopers say speed and alcohol were factors in Goslin's crash.
