    Make Your Own Bouquet

    Bangor Adult Education

The frist thing many think of on Mother's Day is flowers, and for good reason. While there are many great florists in the city, you can also create something yourself at Bangor Adult Education's Fresh Mother's Day Arrangement course. The course is 6:30-8 p.m. on May 8, and the $25 fee covers all the materials you'll need. You have to register by May 3, so you'd better hurry up before all the spots are filled. If they do fill up, which they are bound to do, you can always find a deal at Lougee and Frederick's.

    Mother-Son Dance

    Bangor Parks & Recreation

On the Friday before Mother's Day, the city will host its annual Mother-Son Dance at the Bangor Civic Center. It's for kids ages 5-12 (and their moms, of course) and it's a dressy affair. But since there are kids, there's also lots of goodies for the kids to snack on to make up for having to wear a tie. It's a memorable event for both mom and her son, so get the cameras ready! Here's the rest of the info.

    Spoil Mom at the Spa

    Massage, Manicures and Meditation

Taking the kids to this and that after school, no one runs around more than a mom. So how better to show her your appreciation than giving her a break? From an hour-long massage at Spa 24  to a manicure at Fusion HT, you can't go wrong with the gift of relaxation. And it doesn't have to be expensive. There are lots of places in the Bangor area that have special deals this time of year.

    Brunch in Bangor

    Spectacular Event Center

Breakfast in bed is tricky. You can't wake mom up too early, but you can't wait so long to "surprise" her that she gets bored and just has to get up! And of course, you can't leave a mess in the kitchen. Chances are she won't eat a whole lot of the breakfast anyways, (particualry if the kids burned the toast.) Long story short, brunch is a good idea. The Spectacular Event Center in Bangor is hosting a Mother's Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

    Give in Mom's Name

    Help Less Fortunate Families

Your mom gives a lot to your family every day. From May 1 to May 10, you can give to the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor by purchasing a $1 paper flower on behalf of your mom. Just make a donation to the Ronald McDonald House any time between those dates and they will send her a Mother’s Day card! She'll feel good that she's helping provide support for families whose children are receiving treatment at local hospitals.
