Mother And Son Killed In Norridgewock Accident
A woman and her 3-year-old son were killed in a collision with a school bus in Norridgewock.
Centralmaine.com reports the accident happened at around 9:30 Friday night, near the intersection of Route 2 and Fredericks Corner Road. 36-year-old Amanda Carter of New Portland was driving on Fredericks Corner Road when she failed to stop at the intersection. She drove into the path of a school bus loaded with students and her car was hit broadside. Both Carter and her son, Mark Schinzel were pronounced dead at the scene.
The school bus, from RSU-73 in Livermore Falls, was transporting students from a school function. No one on the bus was injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
