In a new trailer for her forthcoming 'Miley: The Movement' MTV doc, which also features a snippet of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus makes a critical point and lays her cards, face up, on the table.

"You're always going to make people talk," Cyrus muses. "You might as well make them talk for two weeks rather than two seconds."

That's exactly what the singer did with her tongue-and-twerk performance at the 2013 VMAs. She was the topic of national conversation. It was a chess move that worked in her favor when it came to her career. Not so much for her romance with Liam Hemsworth, though...

Cyrus also emphatically stated, "I can be exactly what I want to be, who I want to be…I am a new artist now." R.I.P., Hannah Montana.

The clip also features her collaborator and new bestie Spears, seated next to her in the studio during a pre-VMAs sesh.

"Everyone takes the VMAs so serious," Cyrus says to Brit Brit, who is notorious for her memorable VMA moments, like making out with Madonna, cavorting with a python and embarrassing herself by being out of shape and generally out of it at the VMAs over the years.

Cyrus continued, "I just wanna come out and shoot a hot dog gun. I just wanna have fun!"

Fun was had!

'Miley: The Movement' airs on Oct. 2 at 10PM ET on MTV. Will you be watching, PopCrushers and Smilers?
