Alright, alright, alright.

Bangor's No. 1 resident Stephen King has another book-to-movie project in the works. The Dark Tower series is being made into films, and a TV show further down the road. The first movie will be based on the first book 'The Gunslinger.' It's being directed by Nikolaj Arcel. Casting is starting to take shape and big names are being signed on.

Deadline reports Mathew McConaughey will be the villain known as the 'Man in Black.' From Thor and Pacific Rim, Idris Elba will play the roll of Roland Deschain. The female lead roll will perhaps go to Mad Max: Fury Road star Abbey Lee. She's in negotiations to play the roll of Tirana. In the book her character doesn't surface until the seventh Dark Tower novel of the same name. However, it's likely director Arcel will bring her character in for the first flick.

Word on the street is the movie will hit theaters in January 2017.
