A 28-year-old Mars Hill woman was charged Friday with domestic violence assault, assault on an officer and failure to submit to arrest at at a residence on Park Street.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday, State Police requested sheriff’s deputies respond with them to a report of an ongoing disturbance at a residence on Park Street in Mars Hill.

When deputies arrived they could hear yelling inside the residence, according to police. Deputies entered and found 28-year-old Alisha Perkins, of Mars Hill, assaulting her domestic partner. As deputies were taking her into custody, Perkins struck one and kicked a second, said Sheriff Darrell O. Crandall, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

Perkins was taken to the Aroostook County Jail and is charged with domestic violence assault, assault on an officer and failure to submit to arrest.

Perkins remains at the county jail.
