A 32-year-old from Levant, accused of creating a police standoff in Brewer over the weekend, is the father of a toddler who was shot in the neck in 2013.

Police told the BDN that Ogden arrived at the three-unit apartment building on State Street Friday evening and brandished a gun. The firearm made the people in the apartment uncomfortable and so they left, calling authorities to report Ogden's behavior.

Police blocked off State Street, between the intersections of Washington and North Main Streets, during the standoff that started at midnight Friday and ended twelve hours later. Ogden put down his weapon and surrendered to police without incident. He's been charged with Felony Terrorizing and Creating a Police Standoff. If convicted of the Terrorizing charge, he faces up to 5 years in prison.

Ogden is the father of a 3-year-old girl who was shot in the neck at her Bald Mountain Drive residence in 2013. Officials say the gun was left within her reach. The bullet nicked her spinal cord and left her paralyzed. But now, at age 5, she's making progress and able to move her arms and legs.
