Police arrested a suspect shortly after a second attempted robbery at a Bangor Gold Star Cleaners.

Bangor Police Sergeant Tim Cotton says it was around 7 o'clock Tuesday evening when a man walked into the Gold Star Cleaner's laundromat at 224 Union Street and demanded money from the clerk. The man then left the store after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officer Steve Pelletier was in the area at the time of the incident and, when told about the robbery, immediately located and arrested a suspect. The man fit the description of the robber and was found walking along Fourth Street.

61-year-old David Thiede is charged with robbery for this incident and is also charged with an additional robbery that occurred at the same laundromat a week earlier, on January 12th. In addition, he was found to have an active federal arrest warrant for a probation violation in connection to a robbery in the past. Police say their investigation into his recent activities is ongoing. Thiede is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
