Maine’s Oldest Fair Kicks Off Today
Maine’s longest running fair starts up for its 195th year.
Today the Skowhegan State Fair opens its gates at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds for 10 days of rides, games and FAIR FOOD! Yumm! Also expect animal exhibits, live music, harness racing and demolition derby’s. The fair draws about 100,000 people a year.
The fair started back in 1818. It is credited as being the nation’s oldest continuously operating fair.
The fair runs August 8th through the 17th.
