A woman in Presque Isle who climbed to the top of a 75-foot tree to rescue her cat had to be rescued by firefighters on Monday.

Firefighters say the woman, who was in her 60s, climbed up the tree on State St. because she was afraid the cat would get hungry or thirsty.

After using a ladder truck to save the woman firefighters tried to rescue the cat, but it's a cat, so it ignored firefighters and came down on its own.

The woman and her pet were not hurt.

The Presque Isle Police Department posted this photo on Facebook after the incident...
