A Jefferson, Maine truck driver who was charged after crashing his big rig into a gazebo in a New Jersey park told police he did it intentionally, police say.

Bruce Dunbar, 46, was charged with criminal mischief after the crash in Hamilton Park in Jersey City.

According to a police report, Dunbar seemed disoriented and "non-cognitive" but passed a field sobriety test, NJ.com reported.

A witness told police Dunbar ran a stop sign and continued into the park, driving between 5 and 10 mph. The gazebo sits about 200 feet inside the park.

"Dunbar ... stated he crashed his truck on purpose," the police report says.

Police said Dunbar told them he was on his way to nearby BJ's Wholesale Club to deliver bottled water.

Dunbar refused medical attention at the scene.
