A Maine teenager faces an aggravated drunk driving charge after a crash in Weld that left another teen dead.

Ethyn Buotte, 18, was arrested at his residence in Rumford Monday and charged with Aggravated Operating Under the Influence of Drugs & Alcohol resulting in a death. Additional charges are anticipated, according to police.

Police say Boutte was the driver of a car that went out of control on the West Side Road in Weld May 31 about 11:30 pm and struck a tree. One of the two passengers in the car – Griffyn Smith, 19, of Dixfield died at the scene. Buotte and his other passenger -- Alysa St. Cyr, 17, of Dixfield -- both had minor injuries.

Troopers said the car was traveling 71 miles an hour at the time of the crash. The speed limit on the road is 35 mph.
