Think the bugs are bad for you?  Just imagine living your life in the woods, like a moose.

The Maine State Police are reminding us that the bugs are out and they're making the moose very mobile as they seek relief outside of the woods and on the roads.

These photos of a moose in the road were taken from the dash cam of a cruiser just last night, as Trooper Fiske was responding to a moose vehicle accident further up the road on Route 11 outside of Millinocket.  Scary stuff!

This from the Maine State Police Facebook page: "A large bull moose can weigh in excess of 1000 lbs and they are tall enough so that most of the time they end up crashing into the passenger compartment of your car.(Not Pretty)."

What can you do to avoid a collision with what Troopers call a "Swamp Donkey?"

#1- Pay attention.  #2- Slow down.  Pretty simple.  Also, don't "outrun" your headlights at night.

Happy and safe travels!
