Maine Concerns this Week: Mitochondrial Disease and Selling to the State of Maine

Every Sunday, Townsquare Media airs a public service program called "Maine Concerns." If you haven’t checked it out, you really should! We cover everything from local charitable organizations and their events, to health tips, and more.

This week's show will start off talking about an often misdiagnosed condition that robs the body of the energy needed to make the organs run properly. Susan Patten talks with Heather Tapley, whose son suffers from the disease. They talk about the disease and a charity walk being held to raise funds and awareness.

Then, we'll switch gears to talk about locally owned businesses. Maine's government hires small businesses all the time for a variety of products and services. A free seminar is being held later this month in Machias that will give tips about how to market a business to the state and how to foster a long-lasting relationship for the future.
