More proof that Maine brews top notch suds.

The Great American Beer Festival in Denver was a worth while trip for two Maine breweries. The event is described as the 'Olympics for U.S. breweries.' The Brewers Association awards gold, silver and bronze medals for 92 beer styles.

Taking home a gold medal in the Belgian-style witbier category was Allagash Brewing Co. Their flagship Allagash White won the honor. Their Allagash Tripel took silver in the Belgian-style tripel category. The Portland brewer has won medals at the beer festival many times.

Baxter Brewing of Lewiston scored their first win. Their Window Seat Coconut Almond Porter scored a silver medal in the field beer category.
