High winds will impact the state today into tomorrow. Officials warn of the possibility of scattered power outages.

The National Weather Service in Caribou is warning of strong winds Friday into early Saturday. Meteorologists forecast northern and coastal Maine to be impacted the most from the strong winds. Gusts could top off at 40-50 MPH.

With the forecast in mind, Emera Maine says they're prepared for potential power outages due to the storm. “This is the first significant wind event of the storm season and we expect it may have some impact on the electrical system,” said Nate Cota, Emera Maine storm manager.
