LL Cool J + Brad Paisley Get Awkward But Adorable With ‘Accidental Racist’ [AUDIO]
But when you put them together to sing and rap about racism, it gets a little weird.
The duo teamed up for ‘Accidental Racist,’ a tune inspired by an awkward run-n Paisley had at Starbucks while wearing a Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt.
For the uninitiated, Lynyrd Skynyrd really, really love Confederate flags. Paisley doesn’t support those politics — he even performed at one of Barack Obama’s inaugural balls — but let’s be real, who doesn’t love ‘Freebird?’
The song features lyrics like “If you don’t judge my gold chains … I’ll forget the iron chains” and “[I’m] just a proud rebel son with an ‘ol can of worms / Lookin’ like I got a lot to learn.”
On the bright side, they started a dialogue and they tried. And come on, they’re adorable!
