A meth manufacturing operation found in a car in Lincoln brings the year's total, so far, to 73 meth-related incidents.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Lincoln Police discovered the methamphetamine-making operation inside a car they stopped yesterday. Police say a search of the vehicle turned up three bottles with the ingredients to make the drug. 29-year-old Jared Lovett of Lincoln was charged with manufacturing meth and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

On Wednesday, a man who was wanted in connection with a meth lab on Hammond Street was taken into custody at a Deer Isle Road residence. Police say another meth-making operation was found inside the home where 49-year-old Jeffrey Miller was arrested. Drug agents charged him with meth manufacturing, in addition to the Bangor PD charge. He is also at the Penobscot County Jail.

The Lincoln bust took the year's total of meth-related incidents responded to by the MDEA to 73, already exceeding last year's total of 56.
