Kid’s Favorite Old School ‘Summer’ Movies [VIDEO]

Back In The Day Cafe fans...Are you ready for summer?

Although it already feels like it's here, summer won’t officially arrive until Saturday, June 20th. but that doesn’t mean you can’t get into the mood early with my picks for the best movies about the best time of the year, especially if you live in the great state of Maine.

To say that 2020 has not been the best of times would be an understatement. A global pandemic and racial tensions flaring over the tragic death of George Floyd has turned the world into a very bleak place at times. With that in mind, sometimes getting off social media and chilling out with a little bit of nostalgia for simpler times in your life can be a very welcome distraction.

I miss the days when the school year would end and the whole summer would stretch out in front of you with non-stop sunshine filled days and starry nights...ahhhhh. Again, the real world isn't quite so fun, so it's always fun to go back and reminisce.

There are movies that just remind you of certain times and places in your life and when I think of all five of these great flicks, I think of the perfect endless summer. Bill Murray has the honor of appearing in two of my picks.
