By now, we all know the tale of Lindsay Lohan getting arrested for allegedly punching a woman at a nightclub in New York last week. Then we found out it all happened because of Max George from the band the Wanted. Crazy right?

Well, George made sure to set the record straight, and fellow bandmate Jay McGuiness even had some kind things to say about the troubled actress.

Backstage at KIIS 102.7's Jingle Ball concert, he spoke with Terri Seymour of 'Extra' about the entire ordeal, and insisted to Seymour that the fight wasn't over him. "It's untrue [that it was about him.] I'm not sure what it was," he said. "But it wasn't over me."

“I don't know if that had much to do with it. We were actually hanging out. Lindsay seemed really lovely and suddenly everyone goes wild," said McGuiness. "I don’t know if there were fists, but there were pot-stirring females, for sure. I think she’s a sweetheart.”

And in a separate encounter, TMZ caught up with George at the airport and of course asked about LindsayGate 2012. He yet again came to her defense, saying, "She's fine. She's out of trouble. Lindsay's a good girl."

Do you see how easy it is to clear up rumors when you actually answer a question instead of saying "no comment?" Other celebs should take note from these guys!
