Is ‘Downeast Dickering’ Really The Way We Do Things In Maine?

Once again, let me start by saying, I'm not a big reality TV show fan, and I think TV is going way over board with shows that supposedly show the way life really is.Not even in Maine are we safe from getting put out there in the 'Reality TV' spotlight with shows like 'American Loggers' then 'North Woods Law', which I will say I do enjoy...gotta stay on the good side of the law, but really, I do like 'North Woods Law'.

The latest show that has popped up, which I'm not completely sure really shows how Mainers truly live is 'Downeast Dickering' on the History Channel. Now I know there are those that would rather head down the road and bargain...or 'dicker' with someone they know, or maybe someone they've never met to make a deal that works out for both of them, but is this really how we want Maine portrayed all over the world?
