Get your hiking boots, snow shoes or skis ready and usher in the winter solstice on this fun adventure to celebrate the official season change.

The Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust is hosting a Winter Solstice hike of Bald Mountain on Saturday, December 22nd.

The hike will start at the North Gate at 3:30 PM with a hike/ski/snowshoe a little over a mile into the Great Meadow.  If you are really into the hike you can keep going another mile up Flying Moose Mountain.

After the hike there will be food, fire and music starting at 6 PM at the Winter Solstice Celebration at the Bald Mountain Community Center, which is just down the road from the North Gate.

This event will include three hours of celebration of the return of the sun with music, fire and a community potluck.
