It's just about time to get those tootsies wet...and the rest of you as well for that matter!

City recreation department and public works employees have been hard at work getting the area's pools all spiffy for the summer season!  In just a few weeks, area schools will be out for the summer and the pools will be busy with kids and adults cooling off and having a great time!

Here's what we know:

The Brewer Municipal Pool with it's brand new look will open for the season on the first day of summer, Wednesday, June 21st!  The hours of the pool will be Monday through Friday,1 until 5:30PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays the pool will reopen from 6 until 7:30PM.  It's open Saturdays and Sundays 12 noon until 4:30PM.  Fees have increased slightly this year, but still well worth it!  Brewer kids under 17 pay 75 cents, Brewer adults pay $1.50, and seniors are admitted free.  Kids from out of town pay $1.50 and adults pay $3.  Swim lessons are available, call 207-989-5199 for more information, or check out the City's WEBSITE.  The Brewer Municipal Pool has recently been REFURBISHED, with a brand new floor and walkways.  The poOl is LOCATED between Wilson and State Streets, park at the Brewer Auditorium.

The Beth Pancoe Municipal Aquatic Center at 175 13th Street in Bangor will officially open on Saturday, June24th!  The pool opens at 12 noon, Monday through Friday for  adult lap swimming until 1PM.  Then, everyone can join in the fun between 1 until 4:45PM!  It will close briefly and then reopen for evening swimming between 6 and 8PM.  It's open 1 until 4:30PM Saturdays and Sundays.   Resident kids and adults pay $2 and $3 for the afternoon and $1 and $2 for the evening.  Kids and adults from out of town pay $3 and $5 for the afternoon and $2 and $3 for the evening. The Center is LOCATED in Bangor's Hayford Park, right off Union Street next to Mansfield Stadium.  Find more information about the Beth Pancoe Municipal Pool at the City's WEBSITE.

The Dankin Pool at 380 Pine Street in Bangor will also open on Saturday, June 24th!  Pine Street is LOCATED off Stillwater Avenue, and behind Broadway.  Dankin will be open between Monday through Friday between 1 and 4:45PM for the afternoon session, and then Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 6 and 7:30PM for the evening swim.  It's open Saturdays and Sundays between 1 and 4:45PM.  Both resident and non-resident kids and adults pay 50 cents and $1.  Find more information about the Dankin Pool at the City's WEBSITE.

The Orono Municipal Pool opens on Saturday, June 17th.  Regular hours are 12 until 5PM Monday through Friday and then 12 noon until 3PM on the weekends. Family swims happen between 5 and 6:45PM weekdays, and then between 3 and 4:45PM weekends.  The daily cost is $2 for an Orono resident and $3 for non-residents.  Season passes are also available, see Orono's WEBSITE for more.
