Spotify releases their Trends list every year and also made mention of the unusual activity for this year as well. As you can imagine a year dealing with a pandemic can change things, especially for an online platform like Spotify.

Some interesting numbers that Spotify noted as part of their list this year, a year unlike another in recent history, was due to the pandemic and people having to hunker down at home, work at home and having more alone time, one would imagine. During the pandemic, Spotify saw an increase in nostalgia-themed playlists, songs familiar to listeners that were popular years ago. Also, work-from-home playlists were also increased in the mix as well as wellness podcasts.

Streaming increased, as you can imagine, from home but, it also increased from particular devices, specifically an increase in streaming from gaming consoles.
