The title track from Carly Rae Jepsen's upcoming E.MO.TION album has surfaced and — like "Call Me Maybe" and "I Really Like You" — it's a fizzy, sugar-water-sweet ode to the power of a crush. But you don't seek out Carly for pensive goth anthems, do you?

At the song's outset, it sounds like C-Rae is either trying to get her paramour tipsy, or suggesting he let booze uncover his true feelings: "Drink tequila for me babe / Let it hit you cold and hot / Let your feelings be revealing / That you can't forget me." The chorus continues her plea to let passion be their guide, "In your fantasy / Dream about me / And all that we could do with this emotion." By the end of the song she's turning the lights down low to set a mood (and, presumably, to set the stage for a PG-13 makeout session).
We spoke to Carly about the meaning behind her album title in an interview on May 22, and she had this to say: "Well, I think that is sort of what I was fascinated about. I was like, “Emotion. Well, we all have it. What does Webster’s have to say?” So I went to look at the definition, and what I love is that it said as an example: “She was attempting to control her emotions.” And I was like, “This is exactly what I am doing with this album.” So, it felt really cool. And the phonetic spelling just sort of felt like you had to feel out the word. Artistically, I was like, “I love it.”
