Every week we will feature a new hometown and share photos and facts using hashtags on social media. This week our #hashtag hometown is Belfast!

Legend hast it that this town was named after a coin toss decided it would be named after the Belfast in Ireland. It was Maine's 8th incorporated city is home to over 6,600 people year round and has a lot to offer! Built on railroads, shipbuilding, and trade, Belfast is now a historical location as well as a hub for arts and creativity.

Wine and seafood are must haves here with places to eat like Nautilus Seafood and Grill, Delvino's, or Three Tides. Other local favorites include Rollie's Bar and Grill and Wild Cow Creamery.

Dudley Allen Sargent, the inventor of the gymnasium, called Belfast home as well as 2 state governors, famous scientists, judges, actors, and even a professional baseball player.
