As a kick off to Shark Week check out this shark, off the Maine coast!

This week I have full intentions of being less productive than I already am, IT'S SHARK WEEK!

This was shot last week, five miles off the coast of Boothbay Harbor. It's been confirmed that it's a great white shark, munching on a whale carcass. Scientists don't believe this is an isolated great white appearance. As the waters off Maine warm, the sharks follow the fish closer to shore. Maine also has a healthy seal population, which is proving enticing to great whites.

Great white sharks are the largest predatory fish on earth. Don't pledge to never set foot in the ocean again, just yet. Your statistically more likely to fall out of an airplane, or be struck by lightning than be attacked by a shark.
