Where is Puddy when you need him?

Happy National High Five Day!

The use of the phrase as a noun has been part of the Oxford English Dictonary since 1980 and as a verb since 1981.

This is probably a debatable point, but supposedly the first high five occured between L.A. Dodgers players Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke at a game on October 2, 1977 at Dodger Stadium, but I almost always think of the classic Seinfeld episode where David Puddy can't stop saying it.

Since 2002, every third Thursday in April is “National High Five Day” So make it a point to “slap it high” with everyone you meet today, or if you don't dig germs, a fist bump will do.
