Where is Puddy when you need him?

Happy National High Five Day!

The use of the phrase as a noun has been part of the Oxford English Dictonary since 1980 and as a verb since 1981.

This is probably a debatable point, but supposedly the first high five occured between L.A. Dodgers players Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke at a game on October 2, 1977 at Dodger Stadium, but I almost always think of the classic Seinfeld episode where David Puddy can't stop saying it. But then again, Puddy also also liked to paint his face when he went to New Jersey Devils games too.

Since 2002, every third Thursday in April is “National High Five Day” So make it a point to “slap it high” with everyone you meet today, or if you don't dig germs, a fist bump will do.
