Giacomo's, a popular breakfast and lunch spot in downtown Bangor, closed its doors over the weekend, but its owner says he plans to renovate and reopen in the spring.

Brett Settle, the owner of the restaurant, told the Bangor Daily News, “We are renovating and restructuring and basically giving it a whole face-lift. The plan isn’t really to change the concept outright, but after seven and a half years it needs a kick in the pants.”

Staff were told of the closure on Friday, according to the Bangor Daily News article.

Meanwhile, people downtown noticed that the restaurant's windows were covered with paper and the doors were locked.
