You gotta love technology...when it works. Or works in our favor.

Social media helped spread the news quickly. United Airlines had a technical glitch that will cost them. Yesterday their website was selling round trip plane tickets for dirt cheap prices. Some people managed to get free tickets, while some got tickets for $5 or $10!

United shut down it's website and call centers to prevent more free bookings. The website was back up around 3:45 yesterday afternoon. Company spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said the problem was caused by an error filling the fares, not the website.

So are they going to honor the tickets? They say 'they're thinking about it.'

Back in 2008 United accidentally dropped a fuel surcharge fee that was as high as $130. They honored the tickets.
