Downtown Bangor is hosting trick-or-treating for area kiddos on Saturday, October 27th.  A great event that will be a part of the festivities includes a little educational time for kids to hear and learn about music and musical instruments.

The event is called Fall KinderConcert: Magical, Mysterious Woodwinds! and will take place at Bangor Arts Exchange, Exchange Street, Bangor from 4 PM - 5 PM.

The event is geared towards the younger of the littles, ages 3 to 8, and will have a woodwind trio from Bangor's own Bangor Symphony Orchestra to play music and show the kiddos a little about their instruments.

An instrument petting zoo will start off the event prior to the concert starting at 2 PM.

According to a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience that looked at how adult brains is shaped by childhood musical training, results suggested that about 3 years of music lessons during childhood is associated with better cognitive function later in life.
